On 7th January 2010, Royal Mail issued a set of stamps commemorating Classic Album Covers, of which The Division Bell by Pink Floyd features with the iconic Head cover design as the stamp image.
We are delighted to have been able to produce this officially licensed First Day Cover dedicated to commemorating The Division Bell by Pink Floyd.
The covers feature a single day of use postmark for the First Day of Issue of the Division Bell stamp, which has also been especially designed by us and features a image of the band and is marked with the post town of Ely in Cambridgeshire where Storm Thorgerson directed the iconic shots for the album cover.
These items are strictly limited editions and are individually numbered on the reverse flap. The number of the edition is just 1994, the year the album was released and is the total of both single and 10 stamp covers produced. The reverse of the envelope also has a promotional picture of the band and some background text regarding the album which has been approved by the band themselves.
Available in 2 variations:
- A single Division Bell stamp version of the design which shows 9 additional images from the album artwork and the single day of use ‘Pink Floyd’ postmark cancel on the stamp. £9.99 + £1 P&P.
- A 10 Division Bell stamp version cancelled with the single day of use ‘Pink Floyd’ postmark . £14.99 + £1 UK P&P.
